Redemption

Acrylic paint on the back of a banner
24″ x 48″ Banner

Art Guild of the Delta in collaboration with the City of Brentwood puts together an event called BannerUp, which gives local artists an opportunity to display their artwork on a banner which will be displayed throughout the summer in the old downtown streets of Brentwood. In September, the banners are taken down and auctioned off. Visit ADG’s website for more information.

Before the Banner up event, I had a vision of a drowning man being lifted up out of the waters by Jesus. Sometimes in life, we may feel like we’re drowning and it’s hard to keep our head above the water. We may end up giving up and accepting the fact that we’re going to drown, but as soon as we surrender and reach out to God, he pulls us up out of the water. God’s redeeming love can take us out of the deepest and darkest depths.

Weight of Glory

01/2022 © VANGE LOGAN
12″x12″ Acrylic, glitter and gold marker on canvas

This is a painting of Christ’s crown with blood dripping from His crown of thorns. Jesus healed the sick, raised the dead, walked on water and is the Son of the Most High, royalty from within, but allowed himself to be crucified on a cross as done to criminals. He took our sins on the cross, gave His all for our redemption. The glory of God has weight and Jesus carried it all the way to His physical death.

Light in Darkness

Voted “Patron’s Favorite” for 1st Quarter at the Delta Gallery in Brentwood.

24″x 36″ Acrylic paint and silver marker on canvas

This painting portrays the light of an angel in a dark place with a serpent lurking underneath the water and volcanoes erupting. The clouds of heat remain between the mountains. Amongst all of what takes place in darkness, there’s a angel on the lookout. The light has authority over the darkness. Analogous to certain times in life where we may be in a dark place, but in the midst of the darkness, God’s light of hope remains.

Special thanks to those who voted for this painting at the Delta Gallery.

Exodus Burning Bush

11/2021 © VANGE LOGAN
11″x14″ Acrylic on canvas

In the book of Exodus in the old testament of the bible, Moses, while shepherding sheep, sees a burning burn, which was not fire. In the midst of the burning appearance of the bush was the presence of God. Around it was holy ground and it is where God spoke to Moses to go the Egypt to set the Hebrews free from the Pharaoh. The burning bush symbolizes the presence of God and His assignment the speaks.
